Welcome to the Kitchen System Blog, your go-to resource for improving kitchen operations. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out, this blog is designed to guide and inform you about building and implementing effective kitchen systems.
Building and implementing a system takes time and energy. I will guide you through the key steps to get you on your way. We will explore ideas together, starting with proven systems. We will discuss strategic planning, organizing recipe books, ordering, bookkeeping, and inventory. We will also discuss daily routines designed to limit mistakes and costly errors, such as HACCP.
We will discuss technology and its uses in kitchens. Since A.I. technology is new, it will be limited to tasks like illustrations and text extraction. I am positive we will discover many valuable, time-saving, and exciting uses for this new tech. At some point, we will hit our personal knowledge and time limitations. We will discuss when hiring outside professionals makes sense.
Think of this as our monthly meeting, a chance for us to learn and grow together. You can take the parts that make sense for your operation and implement them between meetings. I will keep it fun, informative and uncluttered. Occasionally, I will share a recipe with you however this is not a food blog. Recipes shared will be done as part of a set-up process or exercise.
I will update my posts on the first Wednesday of each month. These will be outtakes of chapters, journaling, and writings from my upcoming book, The Kitchen System: Routines for Successful Kitchens.
